Roland Mair

Roland Mair is the founder of Mair Elektronik and one of the pioneers of the German EMS industry—known at the time as “PCB assemblers.” At the age of 19, he founded his company in Schwaig near Munich in 1986 and guided it through several technological leaps and market shifts, from assembly manufacturing to highly automated cleanroom processes.

Under his leadership, Mair Elektronik grew steadily and established itself as a reliable partner for industrial electronics, sensor technology, and medical technology. Roland Mair focused early on digitalization, process optimization, and a consistent, long-term corporate development strategy.

In 2021, he sold the company to RAWE Electronic, specifically the Demmel Group. He remained on board as managing director and oversaw the integration and further development of the company. At the turn of the year 2025/2026, after 39 years at the helm, he stepped down from day-to-day operations.
